Incredible opportunity and wonderful stay! Dustin and Heather are outstanding hosts and full of stories of all kinds especially UFOs! And my wife took a photo of two ufos together that night! Wow what an amazing experience!

Thoroughly pleased w/ retreat concept, Heather and Stephanie's flexibility, creativity, upbeat approach. Activities within Dulce Base Tipi and all excursions offered very good, likely unique experience of Jicarilla Apache region and culture. Co-leaders consistently provided work arounds if a scheduled event couldn't take place. Appreciated non-pressure to attend any given activity. Very thoughtful, numerous and completely unexpected welcome and parting gifts. Large tipi and outhouse sizes added comfort within rugged setting. I was cautioned to, indeed care, concentration required to step up high into tipi; practice to get outhouse door unlocked, locked was necessary. Had it down by retreat's end! Larger 'trash can' in tipi would be helpful as it needs to accomodate numerous empty H2O bottles. More advance information about Base setting before arrival would have been helpful, e.g. no warm drinks being available, taking care when grasping unfinished lumber pieces to avoid splinters. In sum I feel privileged and grateful to have taken part in the retreat. I'd recommend it to anyone willing to travel some distance, comfortable in a rustic setting, desiring a personal recharge.

Excited that the Women's Retreat (June 25-June 28, 2026) only had 3 ladies to begin this journey. Having a small group felt very intimate and the hosts were able to share their experiences with us without worrying about who was interested or who was not interested with the amenities of excursions that were being offered during our weekend adventure. Yes, there were some hiccups/bumps in the road, but as this was the first retreat, it was a way that the hosts could look at and find alternative ways to address. Heather and Stephanie were very easy to get along with and open to our suggestions. Offered a wonderful sharing experience with their culture to help us understand what the Jicarilla people are about and their strong traditions. I am sure future offerings of this retreat are only going to get better each time as there is so much to offer the local community and those who may be traveling from a different state or country to experience something unique. So glad I was one of the firsts!!!
